Undergraduate Research Assistant Position

Attention: A lab PI is in search of an undergraduate research assistant . The student would help between 1-2 graduate students on their research projects. The required work will vary based on the needs but may include: field work, such as harvesting, inoculating, seeding, watering; and lab work, such as preparing inoculum and preparing and observing samples of various pathogens. The PI is looking for a student who is able to work in a team and be flexible with work. For more information about this opportunity, please contact Zachary at zashea@ncsu.edu. Undergraduate Research Grant Opportunities

The Office of Undergraduate Research (OUR) has opened the portal for the Fall and Spring Academic Year 2016-17 undergraduate research grant proposals.

The OUR provides Undergraduate Research Grants to assist in funding student research. The office will provide research grants from $500 up to $1,000 to undergraduate students for research projects for the Fall and Spring academic year 2016-17. The number of grants given is determined by amount of funding available at the time the selection process occurs. Students wishing to apply for the NC State Undergraduate Research Grants should have a mentor identified for the research.

Follow these 3 easy steps, using the information found at the Fall and Spring (Academic Year) webpage.

STEP ONE: Read over ALL the information, including the Proposal Submission Process, BEFORE starting your online submission.

STEP TWO: Print out forms from OUR website and meet with your mentor to complete the forms. Discuss with your mentor that they will need to upload a letter of recommendation by the deadline (June 15, 2016)

STEP THREE: With forms complete, start the online submission process using link to portal

SUMMER JOB OPPORTUNITY WITH STUDENT INVOLVEMENT

Join the TEAM – Summer Job Opportunity  – Effective Dates:  May 16 – August 16
Position Summary:  Responsibilities include serving as the first point of contact for the Woodward Student Involvement Center, receptionist duties and clerical support, staffing departmental events such as New Student Orientation – Information Fair, Campus Connection – Organization Fair and Housing Fairs, provide training and support for student organizations, and reviewing and scheduling outdoor events. Compensation:  $8.50 per hour, 12 to 15 hours per week.
Availability:  Must be available for scheduling between the hours of 8 am- 5 pm
Qualifications:
  • Must be a registered undergraduate or graduate degree-seeking student
  • Have a minimum 2.5 overall GPA
  • Demonstrate some level of campus involvement (i.e member or officer in a student organization or campus ambassador)
  • Must be available to start work during the week of May 16
