Are you interested in getting outside of the classroom and achieving a science degree through hands on learning?

The College of Natural Resources would like to invite you to attend an information session to learn more about our majors and the benefits of our College. If you think you would be interested in majors such as: Fisheries, Wildlife, and Conservation Biology, Forest Management, Natural Resources, Environmental Technology and Management or would just like to gain more information on our programs, we invite you to attend our information session. The session will be at 1:30 pm on Friday, November 6th in Bostian Hall 2725. A tour of NC State’s very own Schenck Forest will follow the session.  Transportation will be provided.

THE CALDWELL FELLOWS

WHAT IS THE CALDWELL FELLOWS PROGRAM?

A rigorous program of challenging experiences within a diverse community, designed to push students to Dream Big and to find their path for a lifetime of service living.

A community of scholars committed to studying and implementing the practices of ‘servant-leadership,’ modeled by our namesake, former Chancellor John T. Caldwell. We seek scholars committed to applying their majors and passions to serving the greater good.  A program that develops leadership through developing the individual. Caldwell Fellows have access to funds to support experiential learning and their undergraduate education.

NC State’s premiere leadership development program for 44 years.

WHO IS A POTENTIAL CALDWELL FELLOW?

* Curious, creative, passionate and compassionate emerging leaders.

* Outstanding scholars who take seriously the privilege of higher education and the civic responsibility that this privilege entails. A 3.25 GPA required.

* Students who will use the resources and opportunities of the program to develop themselves and their capacity for careers that serve that greater good, civic engagement and service.

* Students in their first year at NC State enrolled in a four year degree program

* Students with demonstrated passion and engagement.

The Emerging Professionals Group (EPG) and Davidson College are pleased to host the Emerging Professionals Career Summit sponsored by Red Ventures. This summit will bring together high achieving college students and professionals to gain the skills to excel in today’s dynamic professional environment and broaden their understanding of several different corporate and non-profit career paths. Travel costs to-and-from the Summit will be reimbursed and lodging will be provided by Davidson College.

What is the Emerging Professionals Group (EPG)
A decade ago, Davidson College alumni Donnie Johnson ‘00 and Vincent Benjamin ’04, founded The Emerging Professional Group (EPG) based on the belief that if they created an environment of elevated expectations, enhanced awareness, and intense preparation they could create phenomenal professional opportunities for motivated students. EPG has taken over 180 students through a development program that has prepared them for professional success after graduation. Dr. Jennifer Landin, assistant professor in the Department of Biological Sciences at NC State, is a biologist, illustrator and science educator. She will discuss biological illustration as a form of visual communication and the challenges in teaching students to observe, investigate, create and share.
