Clinton Global Initiative University
The Clinton Global Initiative University hosts a meeting annually where students, youth organizations, topic experts and others come together to discuss and develop innovation solutions to pressing global issues. The CGI-U looks for individuals with a commitment to action about global challenges such as access to health care, human trafficking, educational access and renewable energy and ideas that could produce change with the proper resources to implement them.
NC State University has made a $10,000 commitment that directly supports students who wish to participate in this challenge through travel assistance to attend the international conference in the Spring, and will be eligible to receive up to $3,000 of funding for their proposals after the conference.

Idea Generation Next – United Way of the Greater Triangle
Created to highlight college entrepreneurs who are committed to addressing social issues facing our communities, Idea Generation Next: College Edition will help students build the skills and networks needed to bring their ideas forward. Inspiration, creativity (and a touch of competition!) to showcase ideas of college-age women and people of color who are currently underrepresented in the entrepreneurial community.
The Triangle, known for its innovative spirit, will thrive as the changing demographics of the region are reflected in our future leaders and innovators.
We anticipate 300 Triangle area college students, academic advisors, business and community leaders along with innovators and entrepreneurs will participate in a high-energy, interactive pitch competition followed by an accelerator program to build their skill sets. This is an opportunity to hear creative ideas, foster teamwork, and support the entrepreneurial spirit of our community. Participating universities include NC Central University, NC State, Shaw University, Saint Augustine’s University, Wake Technical Community College, and William Peace University.
