PackTrack Club Meeting Today at 7:00PM!
We are happy to announce that we will be having our first meeting next Thursday, September 8th at 7pm, Cox (classroom location TBA). Dr. Beth Hawkins will be our guest speaker. She will talk about the Research Packtrack class opportunity, specifically the first semester of the course. We will also go over the activities we have planned for the rest of the semester and discuss your different research interests to orient our meetings. We also have an exciting announcement to make on behalf of Dean Ditto.
Snacks and pizza will be provided!
Additionally we will be discussing the other activities we will have during the semester which include:
– An introduction to undergraduate lab experiences through Research PackTrack second semester.
– One-on-one discussions with students of your major who are currently undergraduate lab researchers.
– Workshops on how to write grants and research papers, how to read literature and how to contact faculty to work in their labs.
– Advise from graduate students on how to develop research skills during your undergraduate career.
– Information about different seminars and opportunities taking place in the university or in the Research Triangle.
– And any other activity you are interested in.

Undergraduate Research Assistant Position
Attention: A lab PI is in search of an undergraduate research assistant . The student would help between 1-2 graduate students on their research projects. The required work will vary based on the needs but may include: field work, such as harvesting, inoculating, seeding, watering; and lab work, such as preparing inoculum and preparing and observing samples of various pathogens. The PI is looking for a student who is able to work in a team and be flexible with work. For more information about this opportunity, please contact Zachary at zashea@ncsu.edu.
