Boren Awards Info Session

On Thursday, August 28th, Ms. Lisa Mayorga, Program Manager for the Boren Scholarships and Fellowships Program will be leading an information session on Boren Scholarship and Fellowship Opportunities from5:30-6:30pm in Park Shops 210.

Boren Awards provide funding opportunities for U.S. students to become more proficient in the cultures and languages of world regions critical to U.S. interests, including Africa, Asia, Central and Eastern Europe, Eurasia, Latin America, and the Middle East. David L. Boren Scholarships (for undergraduate students) and Fellowships (for graduate students) provide American students awards for full academic year or semester programs abroad. Science, technology, engineering, and mathematics majors may also apply for summer programs of eight weeks or longer.

Who: US Citizen. Undergraduate and graduate students. Proposed program must include formal study of an appropriate foreign language. Freshmen through graduate students are eligible. All majors.

Deadlines:

Boren Scholarships (for Undergraduates):

Campus Deadline: December 5, 2014     Foundation Deadline: February 4, 2015

Undergraduate students must be interviewed and their applications evaluated by the Boren Campus Committee.
Boren Fellowships (for Graduate students): January 27, 2015   (Note that graduate students do not have to go through the campus evaluation process, but I am more than happy to provide feedback on their applications).
